A Derby Day to Remember: Celebrating the Kentucky Derby in Style

This past month, we had the pleasure of celebrating the Kentucky Derby with a stylish and unforgettable event that perfectly blended sophistication with fun. From start to finish, the day was filled with intentional details, charming accents, and top-tier vendor collaboration that truly brought the spirit of the Derby to life.

Florals

Our design concept was rooted in a color palette of soft blues and warm tans, which subtly echoed the traditional tones of Derby fashion and Southern charm. These hues were thoughtfully woven throughout every aspect of the event—from the florals and linens to the menus and décor. We partnered with the incredible Celia from House of Jeanne Flowers who created arrangements that tied the entire look together. Each centerpiece not only elevated the table settings but also added a sense of elegance and cohesion to the space.

The Small Details

No Derby celebration would be complete without themed beverages, and our linen bar menu was a guest favorite. It featured signature Derby drinks, including the classic Mint Julep, as well as custom cocktails that paid homage to the day’s festivities. To add a playful touch, we incorporated custom drink stirrers shaped like horses and horseshoes—just one of the many small details that made a big impact.

Guests were welcomed with a striking “Place Your Bets” flower box—an eye-catching nod to the Derby’s racing roots. This installation not only served as a great photo opportunity but also set the tone for a day full of stylish celebration and thoughtful design.

Every design element was intentionally selected to contribute to an immersive and memorable guest experience.
