Annabel and Zack’s Washington National Cathedral wedding took place on a sweltering June day, but everyone made the best of the heat wave! With the ceremony at the Washington National Cathedral and reception at Dumbarton House, this was one for the books!
Annabel and Zack met in literature/poetry class at Vanderbilt. They are both teachers, so their love of reading has long been part of their love story. Playing into their love of literature, they envisioned an English Garden themed day with beautiful florals, accents of lavender, and a relaxed elegance that suited their personalities.
There ceremony at the cathedral, was of course, absolutely stunning! The photos are breathtaking and it was such an honor to be a part of a wedding at such an historic venue. Following the ceremony, guests headed to Dumbarton House for a cocktail hour outside on the terrace. The couple and wedding party joined the party a bit later for speeches and dinner.
Instead of a traditional bouquet toss, Annabel did a bouquet giveaway where she honored her grandmother and grandfather for being the longest married couple at the wedding. We loved this special moment and always love a unique idea! Later in the evening, Annabel changed into her second dress which was actually made from her mom’s wedding dress! The couple and their friends danced the night away before heading to their afterparty at Apero to continue the festivities!
Thank you to the bride’s mom for these kind words, we loved being part of Annabel and Zack’s Washington National Cathedral wedding!
Maya was especially positive and encouraging throughout our 18 month planning process and did everything she could to make our vision come alive. We so appreciated her can-do spirit and sunny personality at every interaction. She excelled at the details and we could not have pulled our wedding together without her and her staff. She was AWESOME.
Jill, Mother of the Bride
