Milestone Birthday Parties

This year we have had the wonderful honor of planning several milestone birthday parties. These are always such fun celebrations and we love planning them. Read on to see about two fun summer birthday parties!

Becky’s 40th Birthday Party

Becky’s 40th Birthday was held at the No. 9 Lounge above Evening Star. For food they had passed food and stations, as well as open bar. Kids were invited to section of space which was devoted as a kids zone. It featured an awesome coloring table cloth which was a hit!

Tropical was the theme for the party, perfect for a July celebration! It included a beautiful balloon arch, tropical florals that consisted of bird of paradise, palm leaves and orchids. We added to the balloon arch with some additional palm decorations to keep with the theme.

There are always some interesting stories in the event planning life and you can’t make this one up! One hour into the event, a serious thunderstorm came through with heavy rain and winds, which caused the power to go out. The show must go on so the event went on with windows open, candles and flashlights. It wasn’t ideal, but everyone worked together and made the best of the situation!

Eileen’s 60th Birthday Party

Eileen’s 60th Birthday was another fun summer birthday celebration! It was held at the Old Dominion Boat Club and featured a yacht rock band which all the guests loved! We kept with the boat theme for this one and loved how the decor turned out!

During the event, we highlighted Eileen’s book launch in September which was a fun treat. There were also really touching speeches included one from Eileen remarking on 60 years of life. Additionally Eileen’s mother gave a sweet and witty speech. Both women mentioned the passing of Eileen’s father several years ago and how much they missed him which added to all of the emotions of the day.

After the speeches, guests enjoyed the music and danced the night away!
