Nantucket is nicknamed the Grey Lady because of the thick blanket of mist that often covers the shores in the mornings and evenings. A popular summer destination, Nantucket is much quieter and relaxing in the fall, making it the perfect time of year to honeymoon there!
2. Scotland Road Trip
Scotland, like much of Europe sees a dip in tourism in the fall, making it more affordable and less crowded. Take a road trip through the beautiful country to enjoy the countryside and beautiful fall foliage!
3. New England
You can’t beat the fall in New England! Road trip through Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut or Rhode Island (or all of them if you’re adventurous!) to see some of the best that fall has to offer. If you’re a Halloween fan, be sure to make a stop in Salem, Massachusetts!
4. France
Couple smaller crowds with harvest season and France is a winner for a fall honeymoon destination. Enjoy learning more about wine during this important season and have all the allure of France with far fewer tourists!
5. Great Smoky Mountains
The Great Smoky Mountains are another top notch spot for fall foliage! From Gatlinburg to Asheville there is so much to see and do in this area. It’s a romantic spot for a honeymoon as well as an awesome spot for exploring and enjoying fall.
