The classic and cliched characteristics of a “white wedding” are tried and true momentums that many wish to feature on their special day. While we all love hearing ‘Here Comes the Bride’ or ‘Canon in D’ and sipping wine and eating wedding cake, here are some fun alternatives to the status quo to add more of your own personality to the festivities.

Tip #1: Opt for a different dessert option

Wedding Cake is a classic and undeniably delicious option but maybe cake is not you and your partners thing.

For that on-the-go, always active party: Try cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, or other small hand-held desserts!

For the couple that has strong regional ties: Try an official local dessert! Each state in the United States, has an associated “state dessert.” Google “(your state) + state dessert to find yours.

Tip #2: Offer a signature cocktail/ beverage

Wine and Beer are great starting options for your guests but, this is your time to shine. Add a signature cocktail curated by you and your partner, a mix of both your favorite flavors.

Tip #3: Switch up the music

Classic celebrations often have a four or five piece “party” band or a DJ cranking out the tunes for the evening. Consider opting something that represents you and your partner better such as a reggae band or a jazz band. Whatever suits your taste, do not be afraid to incorporate it into your big day!
