A Styled Shoot is an event setting – a wedding, a birthday, a bridal shower, you name it – that is created by a team of vendors to flex and showcase its creative geniuses in a collaborative effort. The team of vendors provide their service, expertise, and time to this shoot in exchange for images of their work to be used for their own purposes (usually marketing and adding to their portfolio).

Typically it’s an event planner that is leading the coordination of a styled shoot with a vision, an idea on vendors to use for the shoot, recruiting the vendors, and handling all of the logistics that come with a shoot. Including when each vendor arrives and sets up, when models (if you are using models) arrive for hair and makeup, answering all the questions, and making sure all the trains are running on time. Very similar to an actual wedding!

Honey & Lavender has had the pleasure of coordinating three styled shoots (and another amazing one coming up in April)! Our latest was a Galentine’s Styled Shoot in Annapolis earlier this year.

The inspiration for this shoot was an easy one. Maya has always been a fan of Galentine’s Day (a day celebrating your gal pals) because who doesn’t love getting all your best girls together to eat yummy food and drink delicious cocktails and champagne? Throw in the signature colors of red and pink (as Galentine’s Day is now officially February 13th, the day before Valentine’s Day) the cutest and sweetest candy and other dessert goodies, and you are golden!

Here is the mood board Maya worked up to send to the vendors.

Once we had our dream team of vendors everything came together seamlessly and quickly!
