In keeping with February being the official LOVE month, we wanted to share some of our favorite brunch places to grab with your main squeeze! Washington DC is known for having the best brunch. With this reputation, why not share your morning with your significant other and make it a memorable time?

  • Le Diplomate – When selecting a brunch spot for you and your partner, Le Diplomate on 14th Street should be at the top of your list. The atmosphere is perfect for a date and the brunch menu is filled with a variety of different drinks and entrees. The French cafe feel makes the date feel even more special and the individual heated dining spaces make guests feel safe and comfortable. You can decide to eat indoors in their open energetic space or outside on the patio.
  • Millie’s – Millie’s is a fun restaurant located in Spring Valley that will bring back feelings of your trip to Nantucket. Enjoy both indoor and outdoor dining, as well as comfortable seating across the board. Treat you and your loved one to dishes featuring egg scrambles, biscuits, pancakes, avocado toast, salads, tacos, and quesadillas. The brunch menu also features a selection of sandwiches and cold appetizers including seafood. Millie’s feels like no other place and you will have a great time any day of the week!
  • Iron Gate – When discussing historic DC, Iron Gate is an inn that cannot be missed in conversation. Executive Chef Anthony Chittum and Pastry Chef Jillian Fitch do a fabulous job creating marvelous Greek and Italian inspired dishes to enjoy. The unique aspect of this restaurant is that local products are used in cooking which goes along with their elaborate menu. We recommend the ricotta pancakes, grilled scallop scampi, and bittersweet chocolate budino. The spicy bloody mary or greek mimosa are also perfect to pair with many of the dishes!
  • Silver – Silver is a fantastic spot for a brunch date with your partner or friends! The casual feel of the Cathedral Commons restaurant brings a great vibe and the outdoor seating is quite nice for any season. Known as an American Brasserie restaurant, the menu is filled with so many options that will fit anyone’s liking. The hours of operation are flexible in that you can even enjoy late night brunch. There are both breakfast and brunch menus depending on what you are looking for. All menus at Silver are very accommodating for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dietary choices.
  • Sette Osteria – The final restaurant that we would like to highlight for a romantic brunch is Sette Osteria, an Italian restaurant with two locations in DC: 14th Street and Dupont Circle. The 14th Street location is a popular brunch spot for locals wanting an omelette or a flatbread paired with a cocktail. The Dupont Circle location has a great patio for a sweet morning date. At both locations, enjoy bottomless mimosas, bellinis, or apple cider for $15 for two hours. The vibe of Sette Osteria is very friendly and upbeat. Anything on the menu is great, whether it is sweet or savory! We recommend anything from the chef’s favorites section of the menu and also any omelette.
