Last Wednesday, Tommy and I celebrated 9 years of wedded bliss. 🙂

While, as all married couples know, marriage isn’t always hearts and roses, I must say Tommy and I have had a pretty good ride so far. And the fact that it doesn’t seem like we’ve been married for 9 years, is a good thing I think!

Our first official hangout at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo in August 2005!
And 6 years later, making it official!

These past 9 years have been filled with incredible highs and lowest of lows – the birth of our two amazing children – Ava and Luke – to the passings of both our moms, we’ve learned to lean on each other through thick and thin.

Given the times this year, we wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary accordingly, but still be safe in doing so.

We opted for a fairly low-key comprise – massages at the Four Seasons spa in Georgetown (extreme COVID precautions were taken) followed by brunch for two at Farmers Fishers and Bakers!

I wanted to take advantage of the kids being occupied with school so we could slip away for a bit and not have to worry about paying a babysitter for additional hours if we did a traditional date night later in the day. This arrangement worked out so well that Tommy and I have made a pact to do this – massages and brunch – once a week to reconnect and spend solo time together.

Hanging with some of my buds down at the waterfront.

As if the day couldn’t get any better, Tommy had a beautiful flower arrangement from Helen Olivia delivered to our house and Ava made the sweetest card and accessories for us.

Tommy – here is to forever!
