There is nothing more fun and rewarding than throwing a surprise party for someone. When it’s a good friend’s husband’s 40th birthday party, you know it’s going to be a good shindig!
Natan is known for always hosting or throwing a party for himself for his birthday, so when Tammy came to me to help her plan his big milestone birthday several months ago, the number one goal(s) were to plan a surprise for him and beat him to the punch on doing something for his 40th.
We began by picking the date for his surprise party – a little less than a month before his actual birthday. Once we had a date, we visited several different venues trying to find the perfect place for the party, before settling on the Majestic Lounge in Del Ray. The Majestic Lounge is tucked behind the Evening Star Cafe and there is an upstairs portion of the lounge that people can rent out for private parties. Evening Star caters food for events held here and Buzz Bakery can provide sweet treats if so desired.
Tammy and I had a great time planning the theme (“Vintage Dude)” and buying decorations and flowers for the party.
Perhaps our favorite part though was choosing all the delicious beverages and food to serve!
