I LOVE Christmas time. Everything about it – the cheer, the gift-giving, the traditions, and the parties. The parties are high on my list. Of course I love attending parties and events, but there is nothing like hosting a holiday gathering in my book. Every year for the past 11 years, I have always hosted a holiday event – whether it be a Saturday night party, a gals Ornament Exchange, a Wine and Cheese party, or a brunch.

This year, I decided to host a gals only brunch at Hummingbird in Old Town Alexandria. Hummingbird is located in the Indigo Hotel right on the water, so it’s a perfect spot to host a casual or formal event, rain or shine.

My brunch of 14 and I were situated in the Duke Street Dining Room and it was lovely.

It was a bright and sunny day on December 3!

Hummingbird printed out the set menu their Events Director, Maria, and I worked on prior to the brunch.

Along with the menu, I made Lavender Lemon Sugar Cookies for the favors.

In keeping with the intentional “lavender” theme, I also brought flower arrangements I made for centerpieces.

One of the first course options available for the brunch.

Thank you so much to Maria and Hummingbird for a lovely and delightful holiday brunch! It was the perfect way to begin the holiday season. The service and space were just perfect. I definitely see planning more events at Hummingbird, for clients and personal events, in my future!

Happy Holidays!
