It was very fitting that our last wedding of 2022 was what most people would call a classic DC wedding. A stunning church, an iconic wedding reception venue, and all the timeless and elegant touches throughout the day that produced a gorgeous affair that will always be remembered!

While Stephanie and Ben live in Seattle, they chose to get married in DC as Stephanie grew up in the Virginia suburbs not too far from DC, and her parents still live in her childhood home.

Details and Getting Ready

The day began with Stephanie and her bridesmaids getting ready at Stephanie’s childhood home. Together with the couple, Kelly at Staccato, created a unique invitation suite and all the stationery elements needed for the wedding, creating a cohesive and elevated ambiance to the wedding.

In Lebanese culture, a favored and important wedding tradition is the bride’s family hosting close family and friends over for beverages and nibbles while the bride gets ready. Once ready, the bride joins everyone and relishes the compliments, whistles, singing, and dancing in her honor. Photos with each guest then follows before she and everyone else head to the ceremony.

Meanwhile Ben and his groomsmen were getting ready at the Willard hotel.

Ceremony

The wedding ceremony was at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church. Stephanie’s parents are members of the church and both Stephanie and Ben had attended a handful of church services themselves here.

Portraits

After the ceremony, Stephanie and Ben’s getaway car, courtesy of Lasting Impressions, whisked them to the National Mall for wedding portraits!

Soon it was time to head to the wedding reception at the Willard Hotel!

The Willard itself, and it’s surrounding areas, are a great place for photos as well.

Reception

An impactful and impressive antique mirror, provided by and designed by Leah’ Letters, directed guests to their seats for dinner. The reception was in the Chandelier Room and boy was it a magnificent site! The room had been transformed into a vision of beauty thanks to the beautiful flower arrangements from Blossom Collective, the Willard Hotel’s elegant space, and its staff’s impeccable attention to detail.

How great is this guest book?!

It certainly wasn’t difficult for Stephanie, Ben, and their families and friends to enjoy the rest of the night.

Stephanie and Ben, we loved being a part of your classic DC wedding and cheers to an amazing next chapter in your lives!
