The Appleseed Network couldn’t have asked for a better September evening in DC to host their annual fundraising reception, program, and awards ceremony.
Thanks to one of Appleseed’s core partners, O’Melveny & Myers, guests and honorees gathered together on a stunning rooftop with amazing views of DC and its iconic landmarks.
About Appleseed and the Event
Appleseed is a network of 18 justice centers across the United States and Mexico working together to reduce poverty, combat discrimination, and invigorate democracy.
They unite research, organizing, policy advocacy, and impact litigation to build systemic solutions for its communities’ most pressing problems.
Every year, Appleseed hosts its Pillars of Justice Celebration to honor key supporters of its important work and raise money for ongoing programmatic initiatives.
This year, Appleseed was honored to present the 2022 Pillars of Justice award to the NFL Foundation and Players Coalition for the remarkable impact they have led through the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative. Inspire Change works with Alabama Appleseed, Texas Appleseed, and other nonprofits to advance criminal justice reforms and other positive change in communities across America.

In addition to a touching and heartfelt program, Appleseed continued pulling out all the stops with their food and drink offering and unique entertainment.
The Party Bee dazzled guests with delectable nibbles and delicious signature cocktails (plus a full bar)!
When the H&L team started discussing entertainment options with Appleseed, they knew they wanted a musical component that would set the ambiance, but they didn’t want a typical wedding-band type group. Well, enter Chris Grasso Music, who provided a jazz quartet for the evening that fit perfectly with the event!
As guests left the reception, they were treated to a coffee mug as well as delicious cookies by Baked by Braegs and some more literature on Appleseed’s impact.
We loved planning the Appleseed Network Annual Fundraiser! It was such an honor and pleasure working with this amazing nonprofit and group of people in order to highlight their significant work and contributions worldwide. We can’t wait for the next celebration!
