We loved planning Meredith and Alex’s intimate ceremony and family-only DC yacht dinner last November. (We also can’t wait for the larger celebration this May at Dumbarton House!)

Working with Meredith and Alex was a pleasure from the start, and it was such a memorable day for us to plan and for their family. It was a first time for us, having a reception on a yacht, and one that we won’t soon forget!

Ceremony

Meredith and Alex got married at Georgetown Presbyterian Church in front of their families, and their adorable son Mack!

Helen Olivia Flowers are always on point.

After the ceremony, Meredith and Alex, along with their families, enjoyed a casual champagne reception in the church’s courtyard (the weather was beautiful!), while they chatted, and as photos were taking place.

Of course, Kerry, timed Golden Hour perfectly.

DC Yacht Dinner

Soon it was time for the yacht party to begin! We had been working with Captain Tommy from Vintage Yacht Charters for several months coordinating this special dinner and couldn’t wait to see the yacht in person and see everyone else’s reactions to this unique dinner idea.

And there she be – working with Captain Tommie was a joy. As one would expect, Tommie has a big personality and was so excited to have a wedding onboard. Vintage Yacht Charters has two yachts available, The Patriot and The Independence.

We chose The Patriot for the dinner, given the total guest size and the ambiance Meredith and Alex were wanting. It was quite roomy and could fit up to 12 people seated for a plated meal. The Patriot is a magnificent example of a custom mid-century motor yacht.

Well Dunn Catering prepared a beautiful dinner table and an even more delicious dinner and nibbles.

Everyone had such a good time on board, Meredith and Alex requested the boat ride to extend a couple of hours, and Captain Tommie happily obliged.

We’ll leave you with some sweet photos of the married couple and their amazing backdrop.
