In late-October we had the pleasure of coordinating and executing the most romantic proposal!

Alex had reached out several months prior with a start of a vision for how he wanted to ask his girlfriend, Erika, to marry him. There were several things he knew he wanted (where the proposal was going to happen, the picnic food and wine, and the types of flowers), but other things we discovered together or he let us surprise him (and Erika)! once the bond of trust had been sealed. -)

Alex wanted to the proposal to happen at the National Arboretum as it was a place that he and Erika had always wanted to go. They both have a love of Spain and Spanish food and wine, so naturally the food spread had to include cheese and wine from Spain.

Erika is a flight attendant so we made sure to include little nods to this, as well as tidbits from their favorite winery in Maryland, Running Hare, on the signs leading the couple to the final picnic site.

Erika said she was totally surprised and couldn’t think straight as she and Alex were walking along the Bonsai Garden to the spot where he popped the question.

After she said “yes” they sat down to a romantic and delicious picnic while they made all of the obligatory phone calls and texts. After the picnic, they enjoyed the Arboretum a bit more and took more photos before Alex whisked her away to one more surprise that day. A dinner with both of their families and closest friends at Fogo De Chao!

Erika and Alex we are so thrilled for you and are so honored to have helped Alex make this dream a reality. We can’t wait for the wedding!
